Allen County has historically experienced infant mortality rates above state and national averages. Research consistently demonstrates that engaged, supported fathers contribute meaningfully to improved child health outcomes and that equipping fathers with tools and resources strengthens families at every stage.

This luncheon will feature Larry Smith, President/CEO of the Fathers and Families Center in Indianapolis — Indiana’s premier organization serving fathers of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Under his leadership, the Center has served tens of thousands of men, with program participants demonstrating significantly stronger long-term outcomes than the broader population served.

Attendees will gain:

  • Practical strategies for effectively engaging fathers and co-parents in prenatal and infant care
  • An overview of the Fathers and Families Center’s workshops and “Train the Trainer” program model
  • Information on local and statewide resources available to fathers and families

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

This event is recommended for home visitors, nurses, social workers, doulas, educators, and professionals working with families across Allen County.
