Caring for immigrants and refugees

The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation remains committed to upholding the dignity of every individual in our community, including immigrants and refugees. Recent concerns raised locally, and acknowledged by Mayor Sharon Tucker, have highlighted the fear and uncertainty many families are facing. The St. Joe Foundation will continue to respond with compassion rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the legacy of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and their Foundress Saint Katharina Kasper.
To support our immigrant neighbors, the Foundation maintains a collection of credible immigration resources to help families access information, services, and assistance: sjchf.org/impact-areas/immigrant-health/immigration-resources.
Earlier this year, the Foundation also issued a public statement reaffirming our solidarity with immigrants and refugees and our commitment to their safety and well‑being. That statement can be read in The Journal Gazette.
As we continue this work with community partners, we remain guided by our mission to walk alongside the most vulnerable and to support programs that serve members of our community with dignity, respect, and care.
