Maria Kanagy, instructor, right, works with an "Our HEALING Kitchen" class, at Hope House in July of 2016. The women were learning all about making healthy salads. HOPE House was just one of 29 community grantee partners throughout Fort Wayne who offered the cooking class in 2016. HEAL is a collaboration between Parkview Community Health and the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.

"Our HEALing Kitchen" is a "garden-to-kitchen" curriculum that provides knowledge and skill-building to increase fruit and vegetable selection, preparation, and consumption. This curriculum places emphasis on locally grown food and the benefits of eating a diet that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in saturated fats, sugars, and processed foods.

Part of the fun of participating in our class is discovering new ways to prepare healthy, tasty meals using fresh fruits and vegetables. Listed below are the delicious recipes from the class. These can be downloaded one at a time or all together (all recipes). Feel free to share these with your family and friends.
