Wellspring Interfaith Social Services: Transforming lives through community support
Wellspring Interfaith Social Services has been a beacon of hope for at-risk individuals throughout Allen County, delivering vital programs that tackle food and clothing insecurity and addressing educational, social, physical, and recreational needs.
In 2020, Wellspring achieved a remarkable milestone by serving over 20,000 clients, the highest number in its history. St. Joseph Community Health Foundation has been honored to help support Wellspring with numerous grants since 2005, helping them to expand their reach and strengthen their impact.
One of their services supported by this Foundation is Our HEALing Kitchen cooking classes led by Registered Dietitian Katie Koller. This year’s classes are focused on their older adult community, helping them to learn more about nutritious eating and strategies to improve their cooking skills. The classes also help to foster a sense of community. As people come together to learn and share their experiences, they build friendships and support networks, turning the kitchen into a space of teamwork and personal growth.
The Our HEALing Kitchen program is supported by a grant from the HEAL Initiative, a partnership between Parkview Health and the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.
