Meet the board: Dr. Tom Kintanar
Q: What is your name, and how long have you volunteered to serve on the St. Joe Foundation Board?
I am a family physician with Lutheran Medical Group and have served three years on the board.
Q: What inspires you about the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and their Foundress Saint Katharina? Are there particular values or works that you find especially important?
The Poor Handmaids’ commitment to maintaining and carrying the mission of Saint Katharina Kasper has been both a blessing and inspiration to me as a reminder to maintain the spirit of servitude to our community.
Q: Please share a memorable interaction you have had with a grantee and their staff/clients.
Early in my practice, I volunteered at Matthew 25 and took away first-hand knowledge of the asset that this clinic brings to our city and the underserved citizens. It is a gem of our community.
Q: What do you enjoy most about serving on the St. Joe Foundation Board?
I enjoy being a witness to the work of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ being realized in the numerous agencies benefiting from the generosity of the Poor Handmaids. This, in turn enables them to provide services to the needy of our community.
Q: Tell us about an accomplishment you are proud of in your professional or private life.
I am proud of being able to be a parent, a professional servant as a physician in the community, and a servant participating as a member of the board of the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.
